An agreement was made between the Group and Carrefour France to found the MAF Hypermarkets Company, to become the group with the premier trade mark of Carrefour in the Middle East region and other countries. Moreover, it was the first to introduce and develop the Hypermarket concept into the region. In Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Hypermarkets Company “Carrefour” was founded in 2004 to become one of the largest and most unique company in the group; the company follows yearly researched plans to enlarge its periphery, as it opened more than ten branches up till now, that are found in all main cities in the kingdom. Carrefour also has several branches in UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Egypt, Jordan, and Syria; and it is the largest chain of retail stores in the world, it hosts more than 107 million customers every year worldwide.
