A large number of companies are using Oracle Forms for their applications development. As a result of the modern requirements to support web based applications, Oracle Forms are gradually becoming obsolete since they can only be web-enabled. Oracle is moving to J2EE to achieve the goal of supporting web based applications. Companies require their systems to be converted to J2EE platform but they meet a great deal of challenges in making the process fast and smooth as they don't want to develop these systems from scratch. Some companies started to search for automated solutions to overcome these challenges but still there are not many solutions convincing the management to apply. Smart Developer (SD) has targeted its efforts to develop automation tools in order to ease development of new systems or converting legacy systems to modern web-based applications. Light Speed is a Smart Developer tool that helps in the development of web-based applications and Baz is another tool that helps in the conversion of legacy systems built using Oracle Forms to Oracle ADF in order to make those applications web-based.
