Medical services in Saudi Arabia are amongst the finest in the Arab Arab world, with more than 300 hospitals, over 50,000 beds, nearly 2,000 health centers and more than hundred 100 private clinics and hospitals and with annual budgets far exceeding their modern counterparts in the western world. Add to that dozens and dozens of medical teaching institutions opening at an explosive rate and whose demand is for the latest cutting-edge medical technology. As a result, at the turn of the 21st century, Saudi Arabia is seeing a significant growth in the medical sector and is at present the world’s largest per capita single market for medical products and equipment, with healthcare expenditures estimated at 8 percent of GDP.
