On behalf of the Authority, the Community Development Authority was established by a decree of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai in July 2008. The Authority is responsible for organizing and developing community development frameworks in the Emirate of Dubai to achieve the goals of the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015 that It was announced by His Highness in February 2007. The Community Development Authority also undertakes general supervision of achieving the outcomes of the social sector through the establishment and management of an integrated and efficient system for development and social services in the emirate. This includes preparing comprehensive strategic plans related to the social sector, supervising their implementation, proposing legislations related to social services, and developing the quality of social development sector outputs.
