The Secretariat was ranked at the level of its service until the name was changed from its municipality to its secretariat in 1426 AH. The new residential areas were planned, the most important of which are Al-Faisaliah plan, Al-Fahad neighborhood plan and the modern plans of the Old City. The city has entered a new phase of growth and development, in which the population density increased to cope with the great growth in the agricultural, commercial and administrative fields of the city.
