The idea of establishing the Riyadh Economic Forum came in response to the call of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz - may God have mercy on him - when he called (when he was crown prince) the private sector to play its leading role in leading the national economy’s march and preparing it to confront economic and social challenges by preparing the element effective and influential human being, diversifying incomes, upgrading the level of productivity, providing job opportunities, improving the investment climate and promoting the concept of a market economy, a call that the Riyadh Chamber responded to and turned it into a work agenda that produced the Riyadh Economic Forum as a container capable of containing economic issues, activating them, diagnosing their dilemmas, and adopting suggestions and recommendations that contribute to advancing the economy and improving it, thus paving the way for achieving sustainable economic development.
