1,200 Specialists & Participants in Conclusion of Dubai Otology 2016

The fourth edition of Dubai Otology Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery Conference & Exhibition concluded yestrday at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Center in Dubai Healthcare City after three days of great success marked by 1,200 visitors and participants..

 

According to Dr. Ahmad Alamadi, Consultant Otologist & Neurotologist and Medical Director at Al Baraha Hospital, and the Dubai Otology Conference Chairman, the UAE’s top three prevailing otology conditions are the recurrent ear infection in children, hearing loss, and recurrent dizziness. Other common ENT conditions in the UAE include allergic rhinitis, snoring, sleep apnea, and chronic sinusitis.

 

Dr. Ahmad Alamadi said: “The importance of this event comes from it forming the ideal platform for local and international notable speakers to network with one another, discuss and understand the latest advances in this highly specialized field.”

 

One of the key attractions of the conference this year was the three-day Masterclass on Head Impulse that was running parallel to the main conference & exhibition. The masterclass allowed hands-on experience mechanism of head impulse testing conducted by skilled instructors.

 

The three-day conference has touched upon major issues and topics related to Otology, Neurotology & Skull Base Surgery. The conference topics included the recent developments in Cholesteatoma, Mastoidectomy, Tympanoplasty, Facial Nerve, Ossiculoplasty, Stapes Surgery, Vestibular Schwannoma, Cochlear Implant, Implantable Hearing Aids, Auditory Brainstem Implant, Vertigo, Skull Base Surgery and The Future of Otology & Neurotology.
