In keeping with its participation in national cultural events, ‘1001 Titles’ is making its presence felt with children at the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) for the second year. The cultural initiative is conducting a series of engaging workshops to nurture a generation of passionate readers and writers in a new age of innovation.
Themed ‘Paper Wrapping’, the interactive workshops were held at the ‘1001 Titles’ pavilion at the fair, where children designed different versions of the UAE flag in the shape of butterflies and roses.
Other workshops titled ‘A Picture and a Story’, ‘Short Story’, ‘I Read to Succeed’ and ‘I Spend My Time in Reading’, were designed for children of different ages, showcasing their talents in describing pictures and turning them into stories. The youngsters produced outstanding results which drew praise from the organisers and revealed highly descriptive and expressive skills which reflected what they saw and felt.
The 1001 Titles initiative also organised a clay workshop, which helped the children to produce simple designs that both entertained and stimulated them.
