ERICSSON CONCLUDES ACTIVE PARTICIPATION AT MWC UNDER THE THEME PIONEERING AT THE DIGITAL FRONTIER

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) concluded its participation at Mobile World Congress 2017 with one powerful message: digitalization is changing every aspect of our lives and becoming fundamental for people, business, and society. Ericsson Middle East and North East Africa highlighted innovations and technologies that will further support its customers and partners to accelerate transformation in the region.  Delivering the strong message that anything can happen at the digital frontier, a promising but undiscovered future, Ericsson highlighted game changing technologies that are paving the way to life in the Networked Society with IT and Cloud partnerships, 5G radio modernization, transportation transformation, and smart city technologies, amongst others, at the Ericsson Hall at Mobile World Congress. Our innovation drives development in mobility, broadband and cloud, creating the foundation for new eco-systems, and transformation across industries.” said Rafiah Ibrahim, Head of Ericsson Region Middle East and East Africa. 5G will be a major technology in growing industrial digitalization, creating, and enhancing industry digitalization use cases such as immersive gaming, autonomous driving, remote robotic surgery and augmented reality support in maintenance and repair situations. The largest opportunity will be seen in the energy and utilities industry, closely followed by the manufacturing and public safety sectors. Now with the digital transformation we see how the use of Mobility, cloud and network slicing will impact all aspects of daily lives. In the next decade, we will connect all things on the planet and enable new business models and opportunities. 5G will play a key role in enabling that shift.,” Ibrahim added.
