King greets Muslims on advent of Ramadan

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman greeted the people of Saudi Arabia and Muslims all over the world on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.

“The holy month of Ramadan is a month of mercy and forgiveness, and an opportunity to free oneself from the Hellfire. Allah Almighty has made the holy month a mercy for the entire mankind and an opportunity for Muslims for self-introspection and improving their deeds. Ramadan bears great lessons that encourage us to compete in doing good deeds to win the pleasure of Allah Almighty,” the King said.

The Monarch made the remarks in a message, delivered on his behalf by Minister of Media Turki Al-Shabanah, marking the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan.

King Salman thanked Allah Almighty for making the Kingdom the cradle of Islam, wherefrom the message of Islam emanated. The Monarch thanked Allah for enabling the Kingdom to serve the two holy mosques and those visiting them and providing them with the best services.

He prayed to Allah to assist the Kingdom to continue carrying out this great honorable task, sparing no effort and placing all its potentials for the comfort, security and safety of the Umrah pilgrims and visitors.

King Salman noted that Saudi Arabia, since its founding by the late King Abdul Aziz, has been striving to maintain the bright image of the religion of Islam, which calls for forgiveness and moderation. It always strives to better serve the interests of the Islamic causes and Muslims, he asserted.

“When the phenomena of extremism and terrorism emerged, targeting the entire world, the Kingdom worked and still works, with all its potentials, political weight and international clout, to combat them with all force and determination. The Kingdom called for dialogue and shunning violence, as well as drying up the sources of terror and uprooting it,” he said.

The King reaffirmed that Saudi Arabia seeks to address threats against global security and stability through forging alliances with peace-loving states and establishing an international center, the first of its kind, to confront extremist ideology and foster coexistence among the peoples of the world
