Continental and the Emirates Red Crescent recently collaborated to host a special day out for underprivileged children in Dubai in the spirit of Ramadan, with support from Dubai Safari Park.
Continental invited 29 children, along with staff from Emirates Red Crescent, to the Dubai Safari Park for a special curated experience, which included bird and giraffe feeding, a safari tour through the African and Asian Villages, where unique fauna roamed freely, and finally an iftar at the Beit Al Qadeem restaurant in the park.
The tyre company also donated 15 used tyres to the safari park to be used in various animal enclosures.
“We are delighted to have partnered with the Emirates Red Crescent once again for this special Ramadan initiative. The Holy Month is a time for togetherness and giving, and we are proud to collaborate with Dubai Safari to provide these children with a truly unforgettable Ramadan experience, while also ensuring we leave a long-lasting and positive impact on our society,” said Karel Kucera, Managing Director, Continental Middle East.
The park houses a diverse community of animals from across the world living in a climate-controlled environment similar to their natural habitats and is home to around 3,000 animals, including 78 species of mammals – 10 different carnivores and 17 primates – 50 types of reptiles; 111 kinds of birds as well as amphibians and invertebrates. It is also home to the world’s first drive-through crocodile experience; the UAE’s largest group of baboons; the largest drive-through lion exhibit; and the country’s only drive-through hippo and tiger enclosures.
This initiative with Emirates Red Crescent represents an ongoing relationship with Continental over a number of years. Continental collaborated with them on the “Little Stars” campaign during the AFC Asian Cup in 2019, and in 2021 in celebration of its 150-year anniversary, where 300 clothing vouchers were distributed to children across the UAE. Through these activations, all unique in nature, the tyre manufacturer aims to give back to society with positive and memorable experiences for years to come.
