80% of HRSD ministry services digital; Crown Prince raised female participation target to 40%

Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) provides 1,000 automated digital services, or 80% of all the ministry’s 1,300 services, Minister Ahmed Al-Rajhi said in the Saudi Budget 2023 Forum.

The digital transformation journey began four years ago, aiming to make it a fully digitized ministry. The HRSD ministry worked on a project, through the Beneficiary Engagement Center (Amer), to find out the reasons for visiting the Ministry since the beginning of 2023. The project came up with 79 reasons that represent challenges for beneficiaries leading them to appeal for the ministry.

The HRSD ministry addressed 60 of these challenges, while 19 are still pending to be resolved by mid-2024.

He added that a million daily transactions in the labor sector via Qiwa platform alone, including issuing new visas, licenses, and other services. In addition, up to 80% of contracts for workers have been documented.

He revealed that the number of Saudis covered by social insurance from 2019 to date jumped from 1.7 million to 2.3 million, an increase of up to 600,000 Saudi men and women that entered the private sector.

Partners in the private sector now have confidence in Saudi men and women, Al-Rajhi noted, adding that out of the 600,000 who entered the Saudi labor market 361,000 joined for the first time in 2023.

In a year, new commers exceeded the total educational outcomes in one year, in implication that employments covered previous years’ graduates.

Al-Rajhi explained that the Saudi female participation in the labor market hit 35%, which is higher than the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 target of 30%, indicating that the Crown Prince raised this target to 40% by 2030.
