Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development to take part in 2019 GITEX Technology Week

The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has announced its participation at the 39th edition of GITEX Technology Week, the biggest tech show in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia (MENASA), which will run from October 6 to October 10, 2019 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

 

ADDED will be throwing the spotlight on its smart services and initiatives at the Abu Dhabi Government Pavilion, which is headed by the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA) and will be comprised of 32 government entities. 

 

H.E. Rashed Abdul Kareem Al Balooshi, Undersecretary, ADDED, explained the importance of the department's participation at GITEX 2019, which serves as a strategic platform to learn more about the latest global technologies and digital solutions. The week-long event is seen as an opportunity to enhance Abu Dhabi's position as a leading pioneer in government digital transformation. 

 

He further explained that the Abu Dhabi Government's presence at GITEX aims at throwing the spotlight on the integrated digital system of the emirate's government agencies--serving as a key pillar in the efforts to achieve the emirate's goals of digital transformation via the integration of technology. The move is expected to provide the essential glue in overcoming technological challenges being faced by government entities through implementing solutions that can provide a more responsive and efficient set of government services. 

 

H.E. expressed ADDED's keenness to showcase its diverse portfolio of innovative services, initiatives and projects, while also increasing awareness about their important achievements and successes, especially in the efforts to organize the local business sector and its economic affairs. He also shared that the department remains steadfast in its commitment to launch economic initiatives aimed at achieving diversified economic growth based on knowledge and sustainability.

 

Al Balooshi said, “We are very excited to take part at this year's edition of GITEX Technology Week. Our presence at this year’s show will give us the opportunity to highlight a number of smart technology initiatives and services in addition to a number of integrated journeys within the Abu Dhabi Government Services program TAMM, which aims at supporting the emirate's move and its initiative to enhance the process of digital transformation. We strive to shape our future in the best way possible, that is why we rely on integrated cooperation and coordination between various government entities to achieve the goals and objectives of Abu Dhabi Vision, which revolves around reinforcing common infrastructure of IT sector.”

In turn, this will facilitate and accelerate government procedures and achieve an optimum experience for investors and businessmen, through the employment of best innovative technologies that are efficient, fast and proactive,” Al Balooshi added.
