Ajman Free Zone is delighted to announce that it has been named as the winner of the highly coveted Modama Awards 2019 in the “Most Committed Entity” category. The accolade was received by H.E Fatma Salem, Acting Director General of Ajman Free Zone of Ajman Free Zone.
The Most Committed Entity category award is presented in recognition of Ajman Free Zone’s innovative programs and outstanding commitment to environmental sustainability.
Established in 2018 by the Ajman Tourism Development Department, Modama Awards seek to honour the hospitality organisations and individuals who are actively working towards a more sustainable and environmentally sound future.
H.E Fatma Salem, Acting Director General of Ajman Free Zone commented: “Winning the Modama awards is an outstanding achievement, a testament that the organisation is at the forefront of making a change. Ajman Free Zone has recently signed cooperation agreements with The Federal Electricity and Water Authority aimed at implementing specific projects that serve the community. Under the agreement with Ajman Free Zone, electric car chargers for electric vehicles will be installed in a number of locations. This move reflects the efforts to increase reliance on clean, renewable energy resources to maintain a sustainable environment.
In addition to the ongoing efforts, Ajman Free Zone in cooperation with various governmental and private institutions has launched several initiatives that will highlight the significance of building a sustainable tomorrow, including the installation of solar-powered lighting poles in the Chinese market in Ajman and other initiatives in the pipeline that will focus on preserving the environment and promoting sustainability.
