Al Barsha gets a new English National Curriculum school

A new premium English National Curriculum school will open its doors in September 2017 in Al Barsha. His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem welcomed Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, to the ground breaking ceremony.

Dubai Heights Academy is an exciting state of the art venture which will boast first class facilities and have a total capacity for 1845 students.

Placing emphasis on a unique personal experience for every child, class sizes will be limited to 22 in Foundation Stage and 24 throughout the Primary and Secondary phases of the school. Dubai Heights Academy will provide students with excellent opportunities and support to develop academically, socially and emotionally and will be a place where students feel secure, significant and valued in a progressive, modern and engaging environment. Dubai Heights Academy will be a school that enables every student to access a unique, culturally-relevant curriculum designed around every child, every mind and everybody.

The school will adhere to Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) guidelines and will strive to fulfill the UAE Governments Vision 2021 for a first rate education system.

Mr. Andrew Prosser, founding principal of Dubai Heights Academy, has over 16 years experience in education in England and the Middle East. Mr. Prosser’s passion and enthusiasm for ensuring each and every child receives an outstanding education is apparent in the ethos and feel of the schools he leads. His aim is for children to enter adult life with the skills, knowledge and values to make a difference within our local communities and globally.

Mr Prosser said “An outstanding educational experience is the greatest gift that we can give our children who will be the leaders of future generations. As the world is rapidly changing we must ensure that all of our children go out into the globally competitive world with the skills, attributes and behaviours for twenty-first century living. We want our children to be excited about coming to school and to love learning. We will empower them to be motivated, tuned in, and challenged. Most of all, we must teach children to understand that success is in each and every one of them as a result of their own effort and hard work. We believe that with determination, all our children will be delighted in their learning journey and proud of their many achievements”.

Registration is now open for Foundation Stage 1 through to Year 4. For further details please call 04 3682677 or visit our website at www.dubaiheightsacademy.com

(The school opening in September 2017 is subject to building approvals, and permits approvals from the KHDA and related licensing entities in Dubai).
