Education Minister Dr. Azzam Al-Dakhil has directed all ministry departments to adopt the new logo which was launched last Thursday in the presence of senior officials.
In a recent newspaper report, Al-Dakhil said that the new logo will be used for official correspondence, but that the old one should be used in internal communications until copies of it run out, adding that this is one way that the ministry is working hard to cut unnecessary costs.
Dr. Al-Dakhil also called on all university departments to inform their regional and provincial education branches that they too must change their logos across all of the ministry’s websites to the new symbol.
He added that the change in the ministry’s logo was unavoidable following the merging of the Ministries of Education and Higher Education, which sought to increase efficiency in their relations.
“The procedure is in line with the royal decree which emphasises the importance of having just one unified identity for both the Ministries of Education and Higher Education,” the Education Minister said.
The ministry also announced that the new logo was designed internally at no cost to the department or to the public.
