Al Wathba National Insurance Company (AWNIC) allocates AED1 Million of insurance premium discount to support the UAE healthcare workers as a gesture of thanks for combatting COVID-19
In response to the global outbreak of the Coronavirus, Al Wathba National Insurance Company (AWNIC), one of the UAE’s top insurance companies for digital and smart services, is offering all medical sector employees in the Emirates a 30% reduction on the cost of services in honour of their frontline work combatting COVID-19.
AWNIC has allocated AED1 million worth of discount to health care providers and anyone in the medical sector on all personal lines insurance, such as home insurance, car insurance, jet ski insurance, yacht insurance and travel insurance. The discount can be availed using the promotional code UAEHEROES via the mobile app and website.
“The stoicism and bravery of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses and all other medical workers, during this critical time should be recognized by gestures of appreciation,” said Bassam Chilmeran, AWNIC’s Chief Executive Officer. “We hope this token shows the healthcare workers who are persevering during the current difficult circumstances that we thank you for keeping the momentum going, we’re behind you all the way and we appreciate everything that you are doing for us.
“We believe that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, such as this, can help companies navigate in very uncertain times. In a period of global turbulence, there is no room for individualistic thinking; the health of the one is determined by the health of all.”
The offer comes as AWNIC continues its CSR initiative in response to the COVID-19 outbreak by urging its customers to utilise its end-to-end virtual service which allows consumers to buy, renew, and report insurance claims from the safety of their homes - eliminating the need to step foot into a service centre.
AWNIC has introduced a number of smart services over the past 18 months which can now support its customers and employees during the period of community-based social-distancing to mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19.
The insurance company’s digital platforms and automated processes not only reduce human intervention and allow employees to work remotely - but also offer a seamless, quick and easy online consumer service experience.
All customers can access the interactive website and mobile app to avail all insurance services such as buying, renewing, and reporting claims digitally - without the need to visit offices.
AWNIC has been investing in the latest technologies to meet the needs of an increasingly digital generation - and this has enabled the insurance company to immediately put in place a digital contingency plan to ensure service continuity for its customers.
During this critical time, AWNIC has issued safety advice for both its family of employees and its customers.
The insurance body is reminding customers to avoid crowded areas and long queues by availing its complimentary vehicle passing services, and to refrain from visiting offices and branches and instead utilise the company’s digital channels to purchase insurance products and report motor claims online through the Mobile App & the E-Commerce Website to limit exposure to the virus.
AWNIC has been recognized for its digital capabilities by the UAE Insurance Authority and was recently the recipient of the “Digital Transformation & Smart Services” Award from the regulator for the second consecutive year.
