Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah region and His Royal Highness Prince Mishaal bin Majed, Governor of Jeddah Chairman Organising Committee of Rally Jeddah, today, Sunday (26 April) the official launch of the second edition of the Rally Jeddahwas announced, with the rally taking place on Thursday (30 April) at 20:30 in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan Bin Bandar al-Faisal, head of the Saudi Arabian Motorsports Federation and organiser of the rally, Abdullah Bakhashab, and representatives of the sponsors of the rally in addition to the men of the media in a press conference held in the conference room.

For his part, His Royal Highness Prince Sultan Bin Bandar Al-Faisal expressed deep gratitude and thanks to His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah region and His Royal Highness Prince Mishaal bin Majed, Governor of Jeddah and the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Rally for their support towardsthis important event and providing them with all the necessary support for the Jeddah Rally, and also thanked all government agencies concerned with the organisation of this prestigious event.
The Marketing Director for Jaguar and Land Rover, Amr Badghaish said: "I would like to express our happiness to be a part of one of the most prestigious motor sport events in Saudi Arabia. Mohammed Yousuf Naghi Motors, the authorised dealer of Jaguar and Land Rover in Saudi Arabia, will be the official sponsor of the Jeddah Rally for the second consecutive year as it will provide the famous Land Rover cars as the official vehicle of the rally.”
He added: “We would like to assure you that we have achieved some of our goals with our participation in last year’s rally and we continue to have a presence in this event as it aligns with our strategic plans.”

Organiser of the rally Abdullah Bakhashab confirmed that during the rally, which lasts for three days, fans will have the opportunity to watch the competition. Fans will be able to watch the launch and the 3KM super special stage of the rally on Thursday 30 April at 20:30. It will also be possible to follow the second stage of the rally in the province of Bahra at the unused Bahra Bridge on Friday 1 May at 14:00 and the third stage on Saturday 2 May at 09:00 at the Khulais province. Bakhashab also took the opportunity to thank the official bodies and the sponsors of the event, in particular Land Rover, MBC Group and Al-Arabia Outdoor Advertising.

It is expected that the rally will attract participation from all spectrums of the motorsport world, especially as the date of the rally comes between the “Sealine” Rally Qatar and the Rally of the Pharaohs, thus the organisers worked tirelessly to give the opportunity for drivers to participate by transporting equipment and vehicles from Qatar to Egypt via Saudi Arabia.

Perhaps the most prominent participant will be Saudi hero Yazeed Al-Rajhi, who plans to defend the title he achieved during the first edition of the event last year, when he finished ahead of a group of well-known names in the rallying world, such as Ahmed Shegawi and Sami al-Shammari.
There will be 39 participants split between the T1 and T2 categories, as classified by the Federation of International Automobile (FIA) as well as six different motorcycle categories.

It should be noted that the rally will take place during the period from 30 April to 2 May 2015.
