Arabic Language Summit organised by the Ministry of Culture and Youth in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre of the Department of Culture Abu Dhabi, hosted in a special session three contemporary Arab poets took centrestage to recite their latest works.
Iraqi poet and critic Ali Jaafar Alaq; Tunisian poet Moncef Al-Wahaibi; and Sudanese poet Rawda Al-Hajj took part in a cultural poetic session shedding light on the significance of poetry in the Arabic language. Through their renditions the participating poets spoke about the story of the dreams and aspirations of Arabs.
Inspired by the works of great poet Mahmoud Darwish, the poetry morning was a reflection of the love of the celebrated poet for his language and identity and reiterated how poetry is a pillar of the Arabic language and Arab identity.
