Aspire Zone kickstarts 2nd Edition of the Skateboarding and BMXing competition
In anticipation of ‘Go-Skateboarding Day’, the world’s largest annual gathering for the skateboarding community taking place on June 21, Aspire Zone is launching the second edition of its Skateboarding and BMXing competition from May 21 till May 23, 2015.
In collaboration with Qatar Extreme Sport (QES), the three-day competition will take place between the Torch Doha and Khalifa Stadium bringing together skateboarding professionals and aficionados. It falls under a growing list of world-class activities and events that Aspire Zone has been organizing in its mission to promote sustainable, healthy and fitness-centered lifestyles within the local community.
The first day (May 21) will see 30 talented professionals showcasing and performing their best and latest skateboarding tricks and moves. During the two-day competition on May 22 and May 23, 50 participants – split between 25 skateboarders and 15 BMXers - will be pitted against each other to demonstrate their skateboarding and BMXing skills and talents; open for both experts and enthusiasts the competition is engaging the community to not only watch, but also partake in an intense, adrenaline-filled and active three-day celebration of the art and sport of skateboarding.
Registration is free of charge and open on-site for those wishing to participate in the event. Participants should bring their own skateboards. Eligible participants over 18 years of age are required to sign a disclaimer, while children under the age of 18 must have a signed permission from their parents or guardians.
