The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Challenges in the 21st-Century forum was organized by the American University of Ras AL Khaimah in association with the Arab German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities (AGYA) and the Arab Council for Training Students of Arab Universities (ACTSAU). The forum for students inventions is a great opportunity for Arabic students to measure their skills against those of their peers from other universities, acquire valuable experience, compete for prizes, engage with researchers, socialize with other peers, and enhance their knowledge in the areas of their interest. It aims also to identify bright Arabic minds that would excel in a variety of areas.
The workshop specifically focused on Energy and Environment, Information Systems and Programming, Social Media Effects on Individuals and Artistic Creation, and Artistic Creation. Students and supervisors from twenty universities (American University of Ras Al Khaimah, German Jordanian University, Al Zaytoonah University of Jordan, Philadelphia University, University of Takreet, The University of Nizwa, Al-Quds Open University, Palestine Polytechnic University, Palestine Technical University, Al Istiqlal University, Arab American University, Menofia University, Benha University, Minia University, Fayoum University, Assiut University, Arab Academy for Science Technology, Tanta University, South Valley University, Hodeidah University) representing seven countries (United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Palestine, Oman, Egypt, Iraq, and Yemen) were selected to participate in the final competition at AURAK.
The President of American University of Ras Al Khaimah, Professor Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, welcomed participants and gave opening remarks. He was followed by Professor Ahmed Al-Qaisieh, Director of Arab Council for the Training of Arab University Students.
AURAK also invited a number of honorable guests such as Prof. Rida Shibli, Jordanian senator; Prof. Kaled Hamza, President of Fayoum University; Prof. Adel Mubarak, Vice President of Menofia University; and Dr. Yousef Al Abdullat, Director of Faculty for the Factory Program to participate in this forum. The American University of Ras Al Khaimah achieved the first place in Energy and Environment track under the supervision of Prof. Mousa Mohsen. Students from the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department presented their project titled “Design and Build of AURAK Solar Car.”

The ceremony concluded with a viewing of movies about the American University of Ras Al Khaimah and Participating Countries and Universities.
Prof. Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, commented on the event, “As a university, we are very keen on organizing such important events. We want to provide students with the tools and inspiration which enable them to positively impact the region. AURAK aims to give students opportunities to relate the theory they learn in the classroom to real-life, contemporary situations.”
