Avivo Group distributes iftar meals among needy

To celebrate the spirit of the Holy Month of Ramadan, Avivo Group distributed packed Iftar meals among the less fortunate community members across the UAE on May 19. Following the success of the initiative, the organisation plans to again give away Iftar meals to underprivileged on 31ST May and 1st June.

“The latest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by the Group is part of our efforts to remain a socially responsible entity driven by a sincere desire and inherent duty to give back to the society,” said Dr Dilshaad Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Avivo Group, one of the fastest growing healthcare service providers in the GCC.

“Each member of the Avivo Group, which includes more than 220 qualified doctors and over 1,200 employees, actively contributed to the drive,” he added.

About 70 volunteers from across the Avivo Group – which includes two highly reputed hospitals, 29 clinics including 10 high-end dental centres attached with sophisticated dental labs, six pharmacies, six distribution centres, two training centres and two state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities across the UAE -- will deliver iftar meals in different parts of the country.

“The goal is to reach out to as many people as possible from the lower rung of the society whose presence often goes unnoticed, despite their diligent performance of duties while adhering to religious obligations,” said Dr Ali.

The Group – which has presence in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Kuwait -- undertakes social welfare activities throughout the year. In March this year, Avivo Group had carried out complimentary breast reconstruction surgery on a breast cancer survivor. ‘Ribbon of Life Walk’, ‘Human Pink Ribbon Formation’ and Breasthetica, a social impact campaign for breast cancer survivors in the UAE, were few other popular CSR initiatives by the group in the recent past.
