Bahrain on Sunday won for the first time the Gulf Cup of Nations final after defeating Saudi Arabia 1-0.
Mohamed Al-Romaihi scored the only goal in the match to seal victory in the tournament held in Qatar.
The two teams had never met each other in the final of the tournament.
They were however, pooled in the same group in the first round of the competition.
Saudi Arabia qualified to the final after beating hosts Qatar 1-0 on Thursday.
Bahrain eliminated Iraq 5-3 on penalties in the semifinal.
Saudi Arabia has won the event four times, second to Kuwait with ten titles.
