du Tough Mudder, the ultimate test of physical strength, stamina, mental grit and teamwork, has announced ‘Block Ness Monster’ as its first signature obstacle to be revealed for the showpiece event coming to Dubai this December.
Described as one of the most highly-anticipated obstacles in du Tough Mudder’s portfolio, ‘Block Ness Monster’ will take teamwork to another level, as mudders have to push, pull and roll their way through 60 feet of slick, rotating barriers.
"By participating in a du Tough Mudder challenge, people will not only unlock a true sense of accomplishment, they will also have a great time doing it,” said Greg Sproule, Managing Director of IMG Middle East, the organizers of the event. He added “Block Ness Monster has definitely become a participant favourite all over the world and we’re delighted to be able to announce it as part of du Tough Mudder this December.”
Commenting on the occasion, Fahad AlHassawi – du’s Chief Commercial officer, said: “Life constitutes a series of experiences and our intention is to make them enjoyable and memorable. We are certain that du Tough Mudder will be a worthwhile experience that will bring out the best in every participant and individual – when it arrives here in December. We hope it will help individuals realise and understand themselves better. Block Ness Monster will challenge both teams and individuals alike in ways that they never thought possible. At du, we’re truly looking forward to witnessing how competitors will go about taking on this tough challenge.”
Chris James, the first person in Europe to complete 50 Tough Mudder events around the world, believes there is no other event quite like it.
“This is a challenge that encourages everyone to join in on a life changing adventure, where there will be no winners. I’ve met so many different people along the way and shared so many journeys and wonderful moments. It’s a special feeling… a feeling you are part of something bigger than yourself.”
Speaking about Block Ness Monster, Chris added, “It has really made its mark as a signature obstacle within the course and delivers a sense of discovery and a new level of camaraderie with fellow participants that is hard to come by these days,” said the 48-year-old.
Known as ‘Probably the Toughest Event on the PlanetTM’, du Tough Mudder will distinguish itself through larger than life obstacles designed around the values of courage, personal accomplishment, teamwork and fun.
Since launching in 2010, Tough Mudder has become a worldwide phenomenon with more than 2 million people participating in the event across 10 countries.
Held in the grounds surrounding Hamdan Sports Complex from December 9-10, ‘du Tough Mudder’, which is organised by IMG in partnership with du and in cooperation with Dubai Sports Council, will include 8km and 16km courses, appealing to fitness enthusiasts and casual athletes alike.
