Canon Middle East showcased its exciting collection of cameras, printers and photo storage devices at an exclusive event held in Ras al Khaimah.
The leader in imaging solutions introduced for the first time in the Middle East, the unique concept of ‘Urban Exploration’ by hosting an experiential photography activity - ‘#UAEOffLimits’ in the village of Jazirat Al Hamra in Ras Al Khaimah.
The exciting event saw 10 media influencers travel to the rustic and beautiful village of Jazirat Al Hamra where they were given the latest range of cameras to try, well guided by host Wouter Kingma, independent photographer and Canon’s printing ambassador.
The latest collection included hero models such as EOS 5D S and 5D SR, EOS M10, and PowerShot models such as G9 X and G5 X. Canon Middle East also showcased its new printer, the PIXMA MG7740 and a first-of-its-kind photo storage device, the Connect Station CS100.
The activity concluded with a photography exhibition hosted at Banyan Tree Al Wadi, Ras Al Khaimah where the photographs clicked by the attendees were displayed for viewing.
“Canon’s brand promise is to help people realise the power of image. The new range of products demonstrates Canon’s unparalleled expertise in imaging and reflects the innovation and uniqueness the company strives for, to provide the best technology to its users,” said Hendrik Verbrugghe, Marketing Director, Canon Middle East.
“Architecture, shops, street art, people…these are things that make a city vibrant. But beneath our feet, off the beaten track and not visible on maps is a secret world waiting to be explored. Jazirat Al Hamra is one such hidden gem that is full of fascinating stories. At Canon, we want to help people enjoy their cities in its full glory and our latest Come and See – #UAEOffLimits campaign aims to achieve this objective,” added Verbrugghe.
Acclaimed photographer Wouter Kingma, who guided and gave the attendees photography tips during the activity, supported the unique campaign. “Urban Exploration embraces the art and adventure of seeking out and capturing cast-off locations that lay hidden behind the scenes of cities. In recent years, the urbex trend has exploded at a fast pace and has become a growing trend amongst adventure enthusiasts. Photography sits at the heart of urbex and is used to document, celebrate and share these hidden worlds before they crumble away unnoticed,” said Wouter.
