The Riyadh Development Authority (ADA) recently decorated 85 stations of the Riyadh Metro with 1,800 drawings of children about the project.
The children had been asked to give their impressions of the multi-billion riyal project which is still under construction. The aim was to create awareness among young people about the importance of the metro for the country, according to an official.
Over 11,000 boys and girls representing 450 Saudi schools in the capital took part in the contest while visiting the venue. The authority had contacted the families of the children before the competition. Their names were prominently displayed on their paintings.
