The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) announced here today extending the period for mobile communications services' providers, to offer extra frequencies on the 700 and 800 Megahertz widths, an increase of more than 50% compared to the currently used frequencies for those two widths.
The aim is to promote the performance of the existing networks of the 4G to accommodate the increase of data using ratio, coincidently with the resumption of the remote educational process, to upgrade the readiness of the digital infrastructure and to back up the virtually-administered education's infrastructure, as well.
It is noteworthy, that the data demand and using, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have doubled 3 times the world average, estimated at 200 Megabyte, during the peak of the Coronavirus pandemic.
