Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs Cabinet's Virtual Session

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet's virtual session today.
At the outset of the session, the Cabinet was briefed on the recent talks that took place between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a number of countries with the aim of strengthening and developing relations in different fields. This includes the letter that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sent to President Alassane Ouattara of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.
Then, the Cabinet touch upon the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s influential role in international forums, through the United Nations, international organizations and the G20, whereas the Kingdom seeks to serve common interests and to achieve further security, peace, stability and development, in order to contribute to building a stronger world against challenges.
In this regard, the Cabinet reviewed the outcomes of the Seventh Summit of Parliament Speakers of the G20 countries, held in the Italian capital, Rome. The outcomes of the G20 Parliament Speakers Summit stressed enhancing efforts to build and protect peoples, achieve sustainable development, preserve the gains of the global economy and meet the hopes and aspirations of peoples.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Minister of State, Cabinet's Member and Acting Minister of Media Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Saeed said that the Cabinet addressed the results of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s participation in the meetings held within the work of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly. Saudi Arabia affirmed, during these meetings, its commitment to joint cooperation, support for humanitarian and development efforts, and enhance the stability of global oil markets, in addition to contributing to achieving global goals to combat climate change through the Kingdom’s most qualitative initiatives; namely Saudi Green Initiative, Middle East Green Initiative and Circular Carbon Economy.
The Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's unaltered position in making the Middle East a zone free of all weapons of mass destruction, as well as the Kingdom’s reaffirmation, during the meetings of the executive council of Organization of Prevention of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), of the importance of the Chemical Weapons Convention due to the significant importance of its goals and role in promoting international peace and security.
The Cabinet considered the Kingdom’s election to chair associations and unions in World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) as a new success added to its record of achievements in this field. It also demonstrates the Kingdom’s position and value at the international level.
The Cabinet, while reviewing developments in the region and the world, followed the efforts of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen in taking and implementing all necessary measures and procedures to confront the Houthi militia's terrorist acts of targeting civilian objects and civilians in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, threatening shipping lanes and international trade in Bab Al-Mandab Strait and the Southern Red Sea.
The Cabinet commended the launch of the National Investment Strategy (NIS), a key enabler to deliver on Vision 2030, whereas the NIS will develop investment opportunities in promising economic sectors, improve the business environment, enhance its attractiveness and competitiveness, and increasing the effectiveness of partnership between the public and private sectors, which all will contribute to maximizing the use of Saudi Arabia’s distinguished strategic location, pioneering investment power, and an Arab and Islamic depth.
The Cabinet was briefed on a number of issues on its agenda, and issued the following decisions:
First:
The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Energy, or his representative, to discuss and sign with the UK side a draft cooperation agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the field of energy.
Second:
The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Finance and the Chairman of the Board of Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, or his representative, to sign a draft agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on cooperation and mutual assistance in the customs matters.
Third:
The Cabinet approved re-formation of the Bankruptcy Committee, for a period of (three) years, as follows:
Badr bin Abdulmohsen bin Hadab.
Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al-Zughaibi.
Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Maghamis.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Adnan Al-Sulaimi.
Abdulaziz bin Saud Al-Duhaim.
Fourth:
The Cabinet approved Post Regulation.
Fifth:
The Cabinet approved that the Transport General Authority continues the procedures for transformation and placement for its employees on the new scale.
Sixth:
The Cabinet approved a promotion at rank (15).
The Cabinet also reviewed a number of general topics on its agenda. The Cabinet took the necessary measures regarding these topics.
