Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs Cabinet's Virtual Session

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired here the Cabinet's virtual session.
At the outset of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques thanked the leaders of Arab, Islamic and brotherly countries who expressed their wishes for his health and citizens for their sincere and good feelings, for the success of his surgery and discharge from hospital, also cabinet members congratulated the King and on this occasion, and wished him constant good health.
The Cabinet praised the preventive health measures during this year's Hajj, and that the decision to reduce the number of pilgrims received Islamic and international praise and appreciation. Furthermore, the Kingdom's ability and standards to manage and regulate the performance of Hajj in all circumstances demonstrate its ability to operate Hajj under any circumstances.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Minister of State and Acting Minister of Media Dr. Issam bin Saad bin Saeid stated that the cabinet reviewed a number of reports related to the Coronavirus pandemic and its developments at the preventive and therapeutic levels. The Cabinet also reviewed the latest statistics of cases recorded in the Kingdom as well as the health care provided to them in light of the stability of critical cases and infections in addition to the increase of the recovered cases, affirming the importance of continuing to monitor and follow-up all developments and expand the tests in various regions via the specialized laboratories in line with the highest quality in addition to the findings of the latest clinical trials, local and international research, and in cooperation with the World Health Organization, the results of vaccines and their effectiveness and safety.
The Cabinet praised the directives of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques to stand by the brothers in Lebanon by offering aid and assistance after the Beirut port blast, by running an airlift by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) to provide assistance to the suffering people of Lebanon to face the effects of this painful disaster.

The Cabinet reviewed a number of issues and developments of events on the regional and international arenas. The cabinet also referred to the contents of the final communique and the declaration of Partners for Sustainable Peace in Sudan, which was issued by the eighth meeting of the Friends of Sudan that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hosted via video conference. The Cabinet also reviewed the importance of respecting the sovereignty of Sudan and the independence of its decision and addressing the causes of conflict in order to reach a comprehensive peace that strengthens its national unity and regional security, and the need for peace partners to take responsibility to achieve security, justice and sustainable peace, and the Kingdom's affirmation, as Chairman of the Friends of Sudan Group, on the importance of supporting Sudan at the present time in order to preserve the security and safety of the region and the international community.
Dr. Issam bin Saad bin Saeid indicated that the Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom's keenness to complete its efforts to achieve security, stability, peace-making and development in the Republic of Yemen, and that presenting the new mechanism to accelerate Riyadh Agreement between the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council, and the implementation points it contains, is an embodiment of the Kingdom's adherence to this agreement signed in November 2019, as the most effective solutions to end disputes and conflicts inside Yemen, pushing the interests of the Yemeni people, uniting their ranks and preserving their Arab identity, creating the atmosphere for the Yemeni government to practice all its work from the city of Aden and activate its institutions, and support the United Nations efforts to reach a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis according to the three references.
The cabinet touched on the joint statement issued by the Energy Ministers of the Kingdom, the Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Iraq after they reviewed the recent developments in the global oil markets and the continued recovery in the global economy, and what they affirmed of their full commitment to the OPEC Plus agreement and the importance of all countries, participating in the agreement, achieving the targeted production levels in order to accelerate the re-balancing of the global oil market, to contribute to its recovery in the interest of producers, consumers, the energy industry and the global economy as a whole.

The Cabinet addressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's call to the international community, before the Conference on Disarmament (CD), to extend the arms embargo on Iran and the affirmation that lifting of the international embargo on Iran with all types of weapons, whether conventional or non-conventional, will lead to more destruction, and it will further fuel the conflicts in the region, which suffered from Iranian interference, and that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia supports every international measure that contributes to stopping Iran subversion in the region.
The Cabinet reviewed topics on its agenda, including some being co-studied by the Shura Council.
The Cabinet was also briefed on the outcomes reached by the Economic and Development Affairs Council, the Political and Security Affairs Council, the General Committee of the Cabinet and the Cabinet's Bureau of Experts.
The Cabinet reached the following conclusions:
First:
The Cabinet approved an agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Saudi Arabian Chevron Inc regarding extension amendment agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Saudi Arabian Chevron Inc in the neutral zone approved by Royal Decree No. (M / 59) dated 9/9/1429 AH.
Second:
The Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding for cultural cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities of the Republic of Iraq.
Third:
The Cabinet approved the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's accession to Strasbourg Agreement Concerning the International Patent Classification, dated March 24, 1971.

The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Transport the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Civil Aviation Authority - or his deputy - to sign a draft agreement between the Government of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Co‑operative Republic of Guyana on air transport services, and submit the final version to complete formal procedures.
Fifth:
The Cabinet authorized the General Supervisor of the National Center for Documents and Archives - or his deputy - to discuss and sign a draft agreement between the National Center for Documentation and Archives of Saudi Arabia and the Department of State Archives of the Republic of Greece on cooperation in the field of documentation and archiving, and submit the final version to complete formal procedures.
Sixth:
The Cabinet approved the Commercial Anti-Cover-up program, as stated in the resolution.
Seventh:
The Cabinet appointed Dr. Fahd bin Mohammad bin Ali Al-Turki and Professor David Wayne Kalisch members in the Board of Directors of the General Statistics Authority.
Eighth:
The Cabinet approved a number of promotions at 14th and 15th ranks.
The Cabinet was briefed on a number of issues on its agenda.
