Over 200 attendees are participating in Fleming Gulf's “2nd Annual Kingdom Cyber Security Knowledge Sharing Workshop” which began today at the Burj Rafal Kempinski Hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Over the course of two days, speakers across various industries will cover a variety of cyber security issues which have become nationwide concerns.
The workshop was opened by Sultan AbuKoshaim, CIO and Governor's Advisor at the Saudi Standards Metrology and Quality Organization. Mr. AbuKoshaim highlighted the government's role in cyber security and initiatives towards developing a national cyber security strategy.
William Leigher, Advanced Solutions Director: Intelligence, Information and Services at the Raytheon Company will speak about information assurance. Protection of employee data and critical information is a top priority for organizations, considering the high risks of information leakage. Leigher's presentation will covered the subject in detail and highlight the importance of good governance. “The importance of securing the cyber environment at Raytheon extends to the national security of countries that rely on our products. Naveed Ahmed – Information Security and IT Governance Consutant at the National Information Center, Ministry of Interior spoke about securing mobile devices, associated threats, vulnerabilities and guiding principles.
