Beginning June 1, the Riyadh-Dammam train trip will be shortened by 50 minutes for passengers’ convenience.
Rumaih Mohammed Al-Rumaih, president of the Saudi Railways Organization, said on Thursday an express train would be started between Dammam and Riyadh, which would reduce the journey time from 4 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours 40 minutes.
He said the train would leave Dammam at 9:15 a.m. for Riyadh and the train from Riyadh to Dammam at 1:10 p.m. He said plans were underway to set up dry ports in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Sudair.
He said that the train journey had become popular because of its cost, convenience and comfort. “Every day we see the train is filled to 90 capacity.”
