Digital healthcare platform Altibbi accelerates operations to meet growing demand for quality healthcare in the Middle East

The MENA region’s first and largest digital health platform Altibbi is revolutionizing the delivery of healthcare and improving medical outcomes for those who lack access to quality healthcare providers by managing up to 1,000 consultations a day through its growing network of registered and verified doctors.

The company began with the launch of an extensive Arabic medical dictionary to address the lack of health awareness in the Middle East. Today, Altibbi is the preferred choice for remote healthcare provision in the region. The company has evolved into a comprehensive healthcare provider with 2 million app downloads in 2018 and 62 million visitor during 2018.

To enhance its offering in Egypt, Altibbi launched a unique initiative called ‘One Million Free Medical Consultations’ to offer free primary care consultations through voice calls and chat. The initiative has already proved to be tremendously beneficial in the Egyptian market across specialties.

Jalil Allabadi, founder and CEO of Altibbi, said: “As the population in the region grows rapidly, there is an overwhelming demand for medical information from trusted sources and remote medical consultation services. Altibbi is bridging this gap with a unique telehealth solution in the region that offers sound medical advice at any time of day or night and ensures that people have timely and critical medical support.”

Altibbi works with a network of handpicked doctors who provide consultations across ten Middle Eastern countries. The company has a rigorous selection of medical professionals, and candidates have to pass extensive background checks. This means that only 10 per cent of applicants make it to the final round and are qualified to provide consultations through the Altibbi application. The company also ensures that it continuously provides doctors with tips, proper education, sessions and events to improve healthcare quality.

Abdellatif Olama, Chairman and co-founder of T20 Egypt, who is also part of the senior management at Altibbi, said: “Since its inception, Altibbi has played a tremendous role in making quality healthcare accessible to people in remote parts of the Middle East and we are always on the lookout for potential partners in the GCC to launch new initiatives that support this vision. Prevention and early intervention is a key part of medical treatment, and Altibbi aims to bring this to every individual in the Middle East through reliable and trusted medical expertise.”

The company has raised a total investment of US$8.5mn till date, and in September 2018, launched the Altibbi Clinic, an Electronic Health Record (EHR) solution that is designed to facilitate patient care.
