Health Minister Muhammad Alhayazie urged the members of the Command and Control Center (CCC), the disease fighting body, to double their efforts aimed at pushing the work process in the center to achieve its objectives like combating coronavirus and Ebola.

He was addressing the members in a meeting called to review the future plan for the disease-fighting body following its decentralization to health departments across the Kingdom with its headquarters moved from Jeddah to Riyadh.

“The minister has urged to double efforts aimed at pushing the work process in the center and achieving its objectives as planned, as well as providing all types of support to sustain its effective role by contributing to underpinning the efforts exerted by the ministry to control diseases and combat coronavirus and Ebola,” an MoH spokesperson said on Monday.
During the meeting, Alhayazie discussed with the senior officials of the ministry and the members of the center the plan of the activities and mechanisms used to monitor and follow up diseases as well as reviewing the activities and events of public health teams, including rapid response and treatment teams.

He also issued a ministerial resolution of moving the center from Jeddah to the MoH headquarters in Riyadh and reforming its membership to be headed by the deputy minister of health with a number of advisers and assistant deputies, general directors and the ministry’s consultant physicians as members.
As per the new resolution, the center will undertake the control of all infectious diseases and early intervention by monitoring related developments to prevent their occurrence and elimination before their outbreak.

The resolution comes as part of a continued effort by the ministry to combat coronavirus and Ebola and confront the health challenges by adopting a comprehensive and systematic approach within its quest to establish and support all factors which insure facilitating the missions of the center and achieving its set goals.
