Dubai Culture Celebrates 46th UAE National Day in France, Italy and the UK

Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, celebrated the 46th UAE National Day across different locations in Europe as Key Cultural Partner to the UAE Embassies in France, Italy and the UK. Dubai Culture supported the embassies to consolidate the UAE’s values abroad and highlight Dubai as creative capital on the global stage.

In its role as key Cultural Partner, Dubai Culture provided the embassies with cultural and artistic content on the 1971 birth of the Union, including exclusive archives and documents from the Etihad Museum. It has also prepared cultural gifts for embassy guests to spread goodwill among nations and strengthen Dubai’s position as an international hub for culture and design.

Saeed Al Nabouda, Acting Director General of Dubai Culture, commented: “On this important occasion, we are delighted to be working with UAE embassies across the world to remember the patriotic efforts of our Founding Fathers, reflect on the achievements our great nation has made, and look forward to an ever brighter future under the guidance of our wise leadership. As Key Cultural Partner for the National Day celebrations, we are furthering the primary objective of the ‘UAE Soft Power Council’ launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to develop the country’s global reputation by promoting international diplomacy, strengthening cultural bonds, and sharing Dubai’s thriving creative scene with the world.”

At home, the Authority partnered with RTA to celebrate National Day with a range of activities at the Etihad Museum, the very location that witnessed the birth of the nation and commemorates the dedication, commitment and patriotism of the Founding Fathers, and invites individuals from all walks of life to follow their shining example in nation building.

In line with the ‘UAE Soft Power Council’, Dubai Culture works on an ongoing and proactive outreach and relationship building programme with other nations via foreign embassies in the UAE as well as through the UAE’s embassies in other global cities, to promote Dubai as a global centre for creativity and strengthen relationships with its international cultural peers. This cultural cooperation fulfils Dubai Culture’s mandate to establish Dubai as a hub for cultural exchange while also improving perception and broadening understanding of the UAE around the world.

Dubai Culture aims to enhance Dubai’s cultural scene and draw attention to the Emirate’s rich heritage with a variety of initiatives that take place throughout the year. The Authority’s mandate is to build bridges of constructive dialogue between different civilisations and cultures through enriching initiatives that benefit the Emirate’s citizens, residents and visitors.
