Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, supported the scientific activities of the International Growth and Development Conference 2018, which was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Tolerance in the UAE, and organised by Emirates Clinical Nutrition Society and Dubai Health Authority (DHA), under a ‘Healthy Ageing Paediatric To Geriatric’ theme in March 2018.
Dubai Culture’s Department of Cultural and Heritage Programmes supported the event by launching cultural and heritage programmes and activities that enriched the content of the conference. These included an introductory presentation about herbs used in the treatment of various diseases, and insights into past childcare methods and UAE hospitality.
Fatima Lootah, Director of Cultural and Heritage Programmes Department at Dubai Culture, commented: “Dubai Culture played a proactive role in the International Growth and Development Conference 2018 by highlighting the UAE’s national identity in front of the audience and participants through a series of cultural and heritage programmes. The event focused on the ‘Year of Zayed’ initiative and celebrated the achievements of the late founding father, in addition to supporting medical education in line with the objectives of the Authority.”
Dubai Culture aims to enhance Dubai’s cultural scene and draw attention to the Emirate’s rich heritage with a variety of initiatives that take place throughout the year. The Authority’s mandate is to build bridges of constructive dialogue between different civilisations and cultures through enriching initiatives that benefit the Emirate’s citizens, residents and visitors.
