Dubai Customs and Dubai HR Department graduate 1st batch of customs trainers

Dubai Customs graduated the first batch of the Customs Trainer Diploma Program in cooperation with the Dubai Institute for Human Resources Development. The graduation ceremony took place in the presence of Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, Abdulla Ali Bin Zayed Al-Falasi, Director General for the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) and Farid Hassan Al Marzouqi, Executive Director, Human Resources, Finance and Administration Division. 

The program, the first of its kind at the local customs departments level, aims to empower participants and provide them with knowledge and skills necessary to perform customs training on different aspects and sectors. 

During its first year, the program trained 14 trainers in different customs sectors who graduated from the 39-training-day program with 300 study hours. They learnt different skills including professional trainers’ needs, training management, and body language.  

The course also covered the unified customs law, tariff and HS Code, valuation, sources of origin, economic agreements and IPR.  

Commenting on the event, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih said: 

“The human capital is the most valuable fortune. Highly skilled people are the main catalyst behind any progress and we are confident the graduates will be part of our bright future. We will maintain our leading position in fulfilment of the wise leadership and following the ten commandments of governance, especially the fifth one,’ Make your work team’ “.

On his part, Abdulla Ali Bin Zayed Al-Falasi reaffirmed these programs are a translation of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai who always focuses on the human capital as the most important and valuable asset in growth and development. 

Director of Dubai Customs advised the graduates to keep developing and learning, and turning challenges into opportunities, and at the end of the ceremony, he thanked all people who contributed towards the success of this program.
