Eastern Clinical Laboratories Bags the "Building Healthcare: Best Technology Initiative Award"

The Eastern Group identified the importance of online presence to enable its stakeholders 24/7 access to diagnostic information and tests. Through its indigenously developed Web portal http://www.eclabs.ae and the complimentary Web App, the Lab has created the Eastern Diagnostic Network (EDN), which is the global virtual platform that connects patients, doctors, laboratories and hospitals into one single network.

"It's a small step in taking healthcare into the new dimension of online services that we have taken for granted in many other industries. The time has come for healthcare to catch up with, and embrace the world of mobile services. Through this latest innovation, we would like to make having a lab test as convenient and efficient as buying an air ticket online," said Dr. Faruq Badiuddin, Chairman of Eastern Biotech and Life Sciences. "Winning this award fuels our enthusiasm to deploy even more innovative features in the future."

In collaboration with Labtestsonline.org, the portal offers the patients and doctors, comprehensive information about every diagnostic test (over 3000 tests). It offers a mobile platform for convenient online booking of appointments for lab tests, enables its clients to keep track of the progress of the analysis, and to view and download the test results as soon as they are uploaded on the ECL web portal.

"We are in the process of connecting and developing a network of laboratories in this region to offer patients and doctors easy access to the whole range of diagnostic tests from the most ordinary to the most esoteric. We have a target to expand capacity 200% by the end of this year and I believe we will exceed expectations," commented Dr. Amrish Kamboj, Chief Operating Officer of Eastern Clinical Laboratories.
