EcoTrail AlUla, the multi-track running race through the picturesque landscapes of AlUla, begins on the 20th of February as part of the Winter at Tantora Festival. The Royal Commission for AlUla organises the festival to promote AlUla as an exceptional tourist destination for heritage, arts, culture and sports.
EcoTrail AlUla will allow visitors to wander through AlUla’s distinctive cultural and historical landmarks through a timed 10 KM hike through a marked course. The one-day hike is a great experience for running enthusiasts and jogging clubs to visit AlUla and Saudi Arabia and participate in a global sporting event that promotes environmentally friendly principles and initiatives.
Racers will have access to several medical care stops and catering stations during the run. They will also receive a race number, time measuring system, GPS device, a shirt for each runner, a meal after the race and a welcome gift.
EcoTrail is an international event which has taken place in different countries across the globe and this weekend’s event in AlUla will mark the race’s Middle East debut. EcoTrail AlUla is one of the most notable sporting events taking place at this year's Winter at Tantora Festival and is sponsored by STC, AlMarai, Sabeeka Energy Bars, Nova and Husaak. The Festival also provides a wide range of diverse experiences that cater to all visitors from all walks of life.
The Festival started on the 19th of December 2019 and will run until the 7th of March 2020. Guests of the this years festival will be able to visit the astonishing historical and heritage sites exclusively as well as attend musical and artistic performances by some of the most respected artists in the Arab, and international, world.
