Empower transplants palms and other trees from Jumeirah Village to other areas in Dubai

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, has announced plans to replant more than 55 trees and palms that were moved from the two construction sites of district cooling services in Jumeirah Village to various  locations in Dubai, as part of its support to the environmental conservation and sustainability.

 

HE Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of  Empower  said, "We are very pleased to transplant the trees from the affected sites to another locations so as not to damage them during excavation work, thus creating the required balance in raising the efficiency of district cooling service and protecting the environment."

 

"Trees and palms represent natural wealth of the nation, which is why we are keen to save every tree. Replanting these trees will ensure benefits for the environment and the community. The palms and other trees were transplanted from the two sites. On the other hand, expansion in Jumeirah village will continue for more than a month,” added HE Bin Shafar.

 

HE Bin Shafar stressed Empower’s commitment to the strategy of conserving environment, and adopt an attitude of sustainability in all aspects of work, through new initiatives and actions, in line with the directives of the wise leadership which is keen that environment and sustainable development always get top priority.

 

Empower currently operates more than 1.2 million tons of cooling capacity, providing environmentally responsible district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments, such as Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World Trade Centre Residences and Dubai Design District, among others.
