Empower wins Dubai Chamber Advanced CSR Label

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, received the Dubai Chamber Advanced CSR Label 2020 for the third year in a row, after being awarded Dubai Chamber CSR Label continuously for 5 years, in recognition of its outstanding efforts in embracing social responsibility initiatives and adopting the best environmental practices which make positive impacts on community and environment.

Ahmad bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, said: “Winning the Dubai Chamber Advanced CSR Label for the third time is an official recognition for the role played by Empower. This would not have been achieved without the great efforts made by the Dubai Chamber in promoting the socially responsible practices, particularly those related to environment in the GCC countries. Dubai Chamber honours organizations that embrace social responsibility practices in seven vital areas, including workplace, marketplace, community, environment, stakeholder engagement, guidance and control”.  

He added that Empower’s work teams reiterate their commitment to continue making positive social impact and promoting sustainable development, stressing that promoting and developing best environmental practices are at the core of the company's mission and occupy the largest space in its efforts and initiatives alongside of its operational and service operations. He pointed out that corporate social responsibility is part of Empower's contribution to achieving Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, with the aim to making Dubai a global hub of clean energy and green economy and a city with the world’s lowest carbon footprint".

The CEO also added that the company has developed a CSR system based on a principle of continuous improvement. The dedicated CSR team, driven by a community strategy formed by Empower, identify the needs of the community in the areas of the elderly, children, people of determination, gender equality and some others. Being a customer-centric organization, Empower has developed processes to ensure that its customers receive high quality services. In recent years the company has invested in e-solutions to enhance its customer experience. Empower had launched an initiative last year during the lockdown period in the name, ‘Empower Cares’ and coordinated all the humanitarian activities for its employees under this umbrella.
