ENOC Group calls for submissions towards the first ‘Women in Energy Award’ instituted to celebrate outstanding achievements of women within the UAE’s energy sector.
Encouraging diversity within the sector, the awards will recognise long-standing achievements of women within the energy industry and address the need to increase involvement of women in leadership roles through continuous support and development.
Applications for the award submissions are now open to female employees from organisations under the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy including ENOC Group. The seven organisations are Road & Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA), Dubai Municipality (DM), Dubai Petroleum (DP), Dubai Petroleum Authority (DPA), Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) and Dubai Supply Authority (DUSUP).
His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO, ENOC, said: “Engaging women as agents of change, we believe that strengthening women’s leadership and participation is critical towards building and sustaining UAE’s energy sector. On behalf of ENOC Group, I would like to encourage women to come forward and submit their application for the awards.”
The nominations are open to national and expatriate females with at least three years of experience in the energy industry.
Broadly classified into Business, Professional and Social, the awards are categorised to demonstrate superior performance of emerging women leaders in their area of work.
The Business category in the energy sector covers Best Woman Leader in the UAE, Best Woman Leader in the Renewable Energy Sector, Best Woman Technical Expert, Best Young Woman Leader and Best Woman Entrepreneur in the UAE.
The Professional category covers Best Innovator of the Year, Best Professional Personality in Energy Sector and Best Thought Provoking Woman Leader.
The Social category covers Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Contribution in Energy Sector and Best Volunteering Programme for Sustainable Development.
As criteria for submitting a nomination, all applicants must work under the Dubai Supreme Energy Council who have proposed new and innovative initiatives to contribute towards the energy industry and community.
All applications can be submitted through the website http://womeninenergy.enoc.com. Applications for the awards will close on May 31, 2018.
