An exhibition titled “Our Environment … Our Life”, which is currently being held in the Eastern Province city of Al-Khobar, is attracting a large number of visitors, especially school students who usually come during the morning sessions.
The staff of King Abdulaziz Airbase in Dhahran visited the show on Wednesday and expressed their appreciation of the exhibits.
The exhibition, aimed at enlightening the visitors, particularly the young students, on how to preserve the environment, is organized by Prince Sultan Center for Science and Technology (SciTech) in collaboration with Dammam University and a private company.
“This is the targeted segment of society because they are the future generation who represent the base for the environmental safety,” an organizer said.
Mahmoud Ayman Hamoud, from Badr Al-Kubra Primary School, said the exhibition taught him how to dispose of garbage in an environment-friendly manner and also taught him how to maintain his school garden.
Ahmed Saleh Al-Ruwaishid, from Palestine Elementary School, said he liked the idea of cleaning the shores as explained to him at the exhibition.
“I will preserve the cleanliness of the shores when we go out on picnics,” he said while his colleague Rida Saleh Al-Harith said he was impressed by the idea of recycling the empty oil barrels and the tires.
A number of school teachers also appreciated the exhibition and said it was displaying simple ideas on how to preserve the environmental safety.
