Etihad Aviation Group and Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs have collaborated to commemorate UAE Environment Day.
More than 80 people participated in the event, which took place at a farm in Bani Yas, and included tree planting and harvesting as well as a clean-up of the local neighbourhood by Etihad employees along with people of determination. Etihad’s Inflight Chefs were also on-hand to prepare food for the volunteers.
Khaled Al Mehairbi, Senior Vice President & General Manager of Etihad Airport Services - Ground, and CSR Strategy, said: “We are delighted to celebrate UAE Environment Day with people of determination and to plant these trees and conduct a clean-up around the local Bani Yas area.
“Etihad continues to pay tribute to Sheikh Zayed’s humanitarian spirit by planning initiatives focused on supporting people of determination in the UAE.”
In January, Etihad Aviation Group announced a year-long programme of activities and humanitarian initiatives to mark 2018 as the Year of Zayed.
