Etisalat Group and Intel Corporation collaborate to boost Digital Education Solutions in the Middle East
Etisalat Group, the leading telecommunications operator in Middle East, Africa and Asia, has announced that it is collaborating with Intel Corporation to transform education solutions in the Middle East. The collaboration was announced at Bett 2015, which took place in London, and formalizes both companies' commitments to enhance student learning through ICT integration. Under the terms of the agreement, Intel is offering to leverage its expertise to support Etisalat in education transformation projects. Over the last 10 years, Intel worked with more than 100 governments worldwide to upgrade their schooling systems by providing students with access to the best education available. Khalifa Al Shamsi, Chief Digital Services Officer at Etisalat Group, said: “This collaboration comes as part of Etisalat’s focus on strengthening its end-to-end solutions for the education sector. Innovative technologies like these help to form a holistic digital educational model that will benefit from Etisalat’s advanced infrastructure and leading cloud solutions.” He continued: “With the education sectors in the region looking to progressively align e-learning requirements, we are working to enable this transformation through leveraging the experience of our technology partners, and working with our regional customers to create the right structure, governance and policies to deliver a compatible world class digital education model.” Intel education programs & solutions consist of a holistic approach including the adapted material, personalized software content and professional development for teachers. All these tools aim at placing students at the center of the learning process and accelerating adoption of 21st century skills such as technology literacy, problem solving, critical thinking, collaboration and team work needed to succeed in a knowledge based economy. The collaboration will also see both companies working towards deploying cloud-based Education services to be promoted to the education sector in the region. Bett is the world's leading learning technology event and has been bringing innovation and inspiration to the education sector for over 30 years. For 2015, the event runs from January 21 to 24 at ExCel London.
