Staged over three days at Al Reem International Circuit in Riyadh, the Dodge Driving Experience welcomed brand ambassadors from the Mopar Arabia club, important media representatives from Saudi Arabia and key VIP and fleet customers.
Guests had the opportunity not only to experience the incredible performance of the Dodge Charger, Challenger and Viper but also to learn techniques that allow drivers to get even more out of these iconic American muscle cars.
“The Dodge Driving Experience is the official Dodge driving school, at which customers can learn - through a carefully designed and structured programme delivered by a team of highly experienced professional instructors - safe driving skills and the functionality of modern safety technologies such as ABS and ESP,” said David Hall, General Manager, Central Region at United Motors Company (UMC), the sole distributor for Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Jeep®, Ram and Mopar® in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
“The main objectives of the programme are to develop driving safety skills through individual coaching, demonstrate vehicle performance and capability through special workshops, deliver key learnings in terms of high performance driving techniques and, ultimately, increase road safety awareness.”
The event featured a wide range of Dodge Charger and Challenger models, from the 3.6-litre Pentastar powered SXT’s through to the 5.7-litre V8 HEMI® R/T’s, 6.4-litre HEMI SRT’s and the 707 hp supercharged 6.2-litre Hellcats.
Rounding off this high performance range was the latest and most exciting ever Dodge Viper, the 645 hp 8.4-litre V10 ACR (American Club Racer), the street legal track car variant of the Viper. Originally introduced in 1999 and last available for the 2010 model year, the Dodge Viper ACR has a long-standing legacy as the ultimate street-legal track car for club racing. The latest 2016 model honours that performance legacy with significant aerodynamic and suspension upgrades, new Brembo® Carbon Ceramic Matrix brakes with six-piston front calipers and Kuhmo high-performance tyres specifically designed for the ACR.
As a special bonus, the event also included the 4C supercar from FCA’s legendary Italian brand Alfa Romeo. This captivating two-seater coupé, powered by a 1750cc direct injection turbo petrol engine with an aluminium block, sophisticated Alfa TCT twin dry clutch transmission and Alfa DNA selector with brand-new race mode, uses carbon fibre, composites, aluminium, rear-wheel drive and advanced technologies to achieve the weight/power ratio of an authentic supercar (lower than 4 kg/hp) - but by minimising the weight rather than increasing the maximum power supplied by the engine in order to guarantee maximum agility and optimum performance.
