FIFA is set to announce today, Dec. 11, the host countries for World Cup in 2030 and 2034.
Saudi Arabia was the sole bidder for the 2034 World Cup. In November, Saudi Arabia received an evaluation score of 419.8 out of 500—the highest for a host application file in the history of the tournament.
Saudi Arabia officially submitted its bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup in July under the slogan "Growing. Together." The bid file reveals the general plan for the World Cup, which the Kingdom plans to host in five major cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, Abha, and NEOM.
The five host cities will feature 15 state-of-the-art stadiums, including 11 new. Riyadh has eight stadiums designated for World Cup matches, including the new King Salman Stadium with a capacity of 92,000 spectators. The stadium is set to host both the opening and final matches of the tournament and will become the new home stadium for the Saudi national team.
