From Australia to the Middle East - Ego Pharmaceuticals Arrives in Oman.

After popular demand from local Omani health care professionals, renowned Australian skincare company Ego Pharmaceuticals is expanding further into the Middle East to launch into Oman.

Founded in 1953, Ego is highly respected in Australia for their quality therapeutic skincare products that assist people with skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. They also have a vast range of everyday skincare products to improve and maintain healthy skin.

Ego will initially sell products from its QV Skincare range, but also hopes to introduce its MOOV Head Lice brand to Oman - a highly effective head lice treatment that contains no chemical pesticides.

QV is the number one dermatological skincare brand in Australian pharmacy1, in Bahrain, in Iran and in Saudi Arabia. All QV products are free from common known irritants including soap and fragrance. They are ideal for sensitive, dry and compromised skin.

Alan Oppenheim, Managing Director at Ego Pharmaceuticals, is pleased to be extending Ego into Oman after initially launching in the Middle East 23 years ago in the United Arab Emirates in 1993.

“Our team have worked hard to emulate our strong reputation from Australia into the Middle East and having now achieved this in several nations, the next logical step for us is to make our products accessible to the people of Oman.

“We want to help dermatologists, paediatricians, nurses and pharmacists to improve the skin health of the people of Oman,” Mr Oppenheim said.

Ego held an official launch for key leaders in the dermatology health care sector on the 25th of February in Muscat which was well received.

“The feedback we have received from the dermatologists, pharmacists and general practitioners in Oman is that they are excited to now have our quality skincare products available to recommend to their patients,” Mr Oppenheim added.

John Butler, Commissioner for the State Government of Victoria in the Middle East, Africa and Turkey, cut the official opening ribbon at the launch and believes Ego will be successful in Oman due to the high quality of Australian made skincare.

“Ego has a long-standing and proud reputation in this region and we are very pleased to see their expansion into this important market for Victoria,” Mr. Butler said. “Ego’s entrance into Oman adds to the significant amount of Victorian companies who are successfully doing business in the Middle East and underlines our state’s reputation for providing world-class products and services across a wide-range of key industries.”

In 2014 alone, Ego made and sold over 16 million skincare products helping to improve the skin health of people worldwide. Over 30 per cent of Ego’s business is now made up of international sales – 45 per cent of these sales are in the Middle East.

Ego products are available to purchase through Muscat pharmacy stores and through other pharmacies.

To further expand its reach throughout Oman, Ego will be launching into outstations including Salalah, Nizwa and Suhar next month.
