Students from Gems Modern Academy school were at their best in the Final Round of Elite School League (ESL), a cricket tournament conducted by Robin Singh Sports Academy with Aster and Transworld Group as title sponsors at the Ajman MCC ground on February 2nd. The League produced not only centuries, but also deadly bowling spells and spectacular all-round performances.
Watched by Indian Test star and renowned coach Robin Singh, ESL aims to identify top cricket talent in the UAE. During the course of the League, Mr. Robin Singh and his team of experts shortlisted 22 outperforming students including Shoun Roger from Our Own English School, Ahaan F – Cambridge International School Dubai, R Aakash – Delhi Private School, Ronak Panoly – Gems Modern Academy and N Pancholi – The Indian High School among many others who will receive high-performance training at the Robin Singh Sports Academy Free of Cost. Additionally, a few students, based on their performance, will be given an opportunity to experience the prestigious Indian Premier League XI, which will include interactive sessions with some of the international cricketers.

Offering sports enthusiasts varied training opportunities through camps, international tours and tournaments; RS Sports Academy operates at GEMS Modern Academy and Ajman MCC cricket ground, and aims to expand its presence to other prominent locations in the UAE in the next few months. RS Sports Academy trains its students with the help of data and video analytics, which plays play a big role in the overall development of students.
A total of 30 schools including Delhi Private School Dubai, Bright Riders School Abu Dhabi, Gems Modern Academy, Our Own English School Sharjah, Gems Winchesters School, Dubai Scholars, Emirates Future International School, Al Sadiq Islamic English School, Arab Unity School and Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School Sharjah among many others participated in the Elite School League. Witnessing participation from 15 students per team, ESL is the first-of-its kind tournament where matches were live streamed to YouTube and Facebook and students had an opportunity to showcase their skills to a set of international players and coaches.
The final round of ESL was held between Gems Modern Academy and Our Own English School Sharjah where the latter won the toss and elected to bat. However, GEMS Academy won the match by eight wickets and Ronak Panoly was awarded the man of the match. The winning team was awarded a rolling trophy by Mr. Vipul – Consulate General of India in Dubai.
