Ghent University’s Faculties To Show Up At 7th Gulf Education Confab

Ghent University’s two important faculties will be showcasing their leading edge research and high impact work at the 7th Annual Gulf Conferences and Exhibition on 20-21 February, University official Pieter Pauwels said in an emailed statement.

“The faculty of Bioscience Engineering and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Ghent University are honored to be present at the 7th Gulf education conference in Jeddah on the 20th and 21st of February 2018. Years of educating generations of young scientists has led to top rankings in research,” Pauwels said.

The Faculty of Bioscience Engineering, he said, is a European research leader in the field of applied biological and life sciences or bioengineering.

“We educate generations of scientists in leading edge research and high impact work with governments and communities, industry and NGOs, to support innovation and sustainability in life sciences while managing and protecting natural and man-made ecosystems,” he said. “We offer a wide range of high standard international graduate programs, workshops, short training initiatives and tailor-made solutions for organizations and companies. More than 50 years of research corporations has led to the creation of cutting edge master degree and intensive training programs.”

Pauwels said the faculty of Veterinary Medicine is currently ranked number one in the Shangai academic ranking of world universities. “Research covers different aspects of veterinary sciences and is highly interdisciplinary and international,” he said. “Subjects include animal health, welfare and disease, public health, food safety and wildlife preservation.”

Our graduates, Pauwels said, easily adapt to the changing demands of society and our alumni are found in strategic positions in companies as well as governmental settings; they are very well prepared to take responsible jobs in a demanding context.

The two-day Gulf Education Conference is committed to supporting global education programs through student recruitment as well as facilitating partnerships between international institutions, academies, schools, and universities with Ministries of Education from the MENA region.
