Global Village recognised at the Innovation in Construction & FM awards 2020 with HSE Initiative of the Year win

Global Village, the UAE and wider region's leading multicultural family destination for culture, shopping, and entertainment, has been recognised at the prestigious Innovation in Construction & FM awards 2020 by winning HSE Initiative of the Year. The annual showpiece applauds the achievements of construction and facilities management professionals across the region and this year's awards presentation was held yesterday, November 24, at Sofitel Dubai, The Obelisk.

Global Village has raised the benchmark in response to the ongoing pandemic and continues to provide best-in-class guest experience under new normal conditions, following its comprehensive re-evaluation and overhaul of health, safety, and environmental operations.

Many measures have been implemented by Global Village’s management team that align with the highest international health and safety standards, and the park has succeeded in setting an example for others to follow in the travel, tourism, and leisure sectors. Social distancing is in effect, creative elements that appeal to different age groups have been paired with standard signage to ensure everyone follows the protocol, over 600 hand sanitiser stations have also been installed using 100% natural products by SHEILDme, cleaning schedules have been increased, and thermal cameras are in place at all entry points. Global Village are even providing complimentary fun masks for kids to encourage them to abide by the rules concerning face covering.   

Technological advances in the name of guest convenience and safety are also playing a big role. In order to enable cashless payment for those guests who prefer contactless transactions, Global Village launched GVPay by Noqodi, which is accepted across all the outlets in the Park. In addition, the all-new Global Village App and website enables guests to pay for tickets, attractions and parking online.  

Global Village has worked closely with leading international organisations as well as local authorities to implement a host of new safety measures across every touch point for its Silver Jubilee Season, striking the perfect balance between safety and fun for a unique cultural and entertainment experience.
